The Cross Of Your Sacrifice....a poem I recently wrote.

Romans 8:32 He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Cross Of Your Sacrifice
My heart beholds Your glory;
As my lips sing Your praise.
I am undone in Your Presence;
My heart beholds Your glory;
In the Cross of Your sacrifice.

This is Your greatest Glory;
In the darkest hour ever known.
Behold the dying Lamb of God;
You left Your great Throne above;
To be God and Man all in one.
I See You there on the Cross You chose;
To pay the debt we owed;
In the cross of Your sacrifice.

You beheld the cross with joy;
But despised the shame You bore.
You took it all for me;
Down to the crown of thorns you wore.
Jesus, You gave us Your all;
Knowing it would more than suffice.
You gave us everything;
In the Cross of Your Sacrifice.

My Own Words Convicting Me...And A Gospel Attitude

I wrote this as an email to a friend of mine needing advice and found my own heart being convicted. I had to share it here.

When it comes to your frustration and bitterness, you have choices with every situation. You can stay that way and be miserable. Or you can decide to not be miserable. You can decide that losing some money is no big deal because you have a big God that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what you can ask or think. And you know He always provides for you no matter what.
You can decide to have joy in spite of your circumstances. Joy isn't because of what happens in our lives. It lives in us because of JESUS. You can pray, pray, pray, and then pray some more. Be the prayer warrior your house so desperately needs. Pray about your circumstances. Pray for your sister and her husband's salvation. God knows and sees all anyway. He knows and understands your pain right now. He loves YOU, my friend. But He allows trials for a purpose. Everything is by design. Remember His utter Sovereignty and its perfection.
I watched a movie lastnight where these two guys, one older and one much younger were mugged. After the initial mugging was over, the older guy kept calling the muggers back and giving them more stuff. A watch, a jacket, shoes, etc. And he made the younger guy give up his stuff too. The younger guy was completely shocked. He couldn't understand why the older guy kept giving more stuff. He told the younger one, "The people that are hardest to love are the ones who need it the most." While the movie wasn't a christian one, there is a definite spiritual application there. God expects us to give, give, give, and give some more because when we trust in Him His supply is abundant.
We cannot outgive God. Whether it's money, time, love, respect. We can give and give even to the unlovable. Because God has loved and continued to love us and we are utterly unlovable apart from Jesus. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". Romans 5:8. You and I would do well to remember that the gospel should always be present in our minds, no matter what circumstances we are in. I know I definitely need to remember that. Maybe I wouldn't struggle so much. Heh, in fact I know I wouldn't. I think this is the beginning and continuation of faith. To remember that God died for us on the Cross to give us life. If He could do that, wouldn't He be able to do whatever we ask Him for according to His will?
A gospel attitude is completely selfless, willing to give whatever is asked because our hearts would be so grateful for the sacrifice that Jesus gave to give us everything we will ever need. But most importantly, it has given us a relationship with the most high God. There was no other way to be reconciled to God except that He would give up everything so we could know Him on an intimate level. Our faith should begin at the Cross, realizing that God has given us His whole Self in the form of His dear Son for the sake of our salvation. He is more than capable to give us whatever else we may ask Him for according to His will. "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" Romans 8:32. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19. Oh, my Lord Jesus, give me a gospel attitude!! This is truly straight from Heaven to my heart and then to yours! God is using my own words to convict me. Praise Him, praise HIM. God Bless You, My Friend.

A Way to Pray

I dont offer this to anyone as a formula or as a legalistic "you must pray this way" method. I only tell this because i have found it to be very effective in my own prayers. Instead of plunging right into your own needs, take a silent moment or two and let your soul and spirit attune themselves to the Holy Spirit. Quietly welcome Him to dwell with you in your prayer time. When you begin to pray aloud, start off by saying something like, O Lord of all love and mercy, Giver of life and grace, and/or Jesus, the One Who gave all of Himself for me. These are merely suggestions. You can say whatever comes to mind. The point of this exercise is to put our focus on the One we are praying to, not only our prayers. Try it if you like. It works! It definitely draws me closer to God. And if you enjoy engaging your emotions in prayers like i do, you will love this!

Religion And Relationship

A lot of believers fear that word "religion". But there is nothing to fear. There is a certain aspect of religion in what we do. We pray, read the Bible, go to church, observe the Lord's supper, etc. These are all good and noble things. And to say we have religion is not a bad thing. The point of the whole thing is that when we have only religion and no relationship that our practices are ineffective. There must be an inner relationship with God through Jesus Christ for our religion to effective. So do not fear religion since it is one of the means by which our relationship with God grows.

Don't Waste Your Life!!

God did not send Jesus to die on the Cross so we could have a life of ease, health, and wealth. God sent Jesus to take upon Himself that which we could not do ourselves. He paid the price for OUR SIN. I do not usually speak strongly against false doctrine. But this so called "divine health wealth, and prosperity" doctrine is a false and perverted gospel. And untold millions are buying into its deadly deceptions. This angers and troubles me very deeply. Jesus came to give us abundant SPIRITUAL life. And He promised us we would have trials and tribulations. But the reason for them is to make us more like Him and to bring GLORY TO GOD. This one precious life is easy to waste. Dont waste yours on this foolish drivel. We are called to DENY OURSELVES, TAKE UP OUR CROSS, AND FOLLOW JESUS. Not to expect everything in this life to be perfect and easy. Perfection and ease comes in the next life when we are with Jesus Christ in eternity. But on earth we are to be slaves to His cause. And His cause is to seek and to save that which was lost and to bring glory to His name. Our lives are to be poured out for the cause of Christ, whatever the cost! Let this one idea capture you and your life wont be wasted: "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". Ask God to show you what it means. And He will. LET HIS GLORY BE YOUR ONE PASSION!
